Speaking of puppies, this month's sponsored dog comes from Burma, now officially known as Union of Myanmar. I had no idea where Burma was until somedog showed me a map:

I still don't know where Burma is because I can't read maps, but I do know that this lucky dog is going to have treats for a whole month!

His name is Kyine, which means "smells sweet". Well, let me tell you, he doesn't smell sweet, but his personality and nipples certainly make up for it. I had the pleasure of meeting this puppy on the streets of Rangoon.
Over a bowl of chicken broth, we discussed the Burmese curry treats Kyine would soon be receiving thanks to all your donations. Kyine barked, "My favorite food is Any-Meat-Curry. Burmese curries do not use curry powder. They are based on onion, garlic, ginger and chili, and what you do need is large amounts of these as well as the ubiquitous ngapi (or blachan, as it is most popularly called), a dried shrimp paste. Without it, Burmese cooking just isn't authentic."
